We've had a lot of publicity over the last few days and it's really increased the traffic on the site.
I blogged on Monday about how it all started with an article in the Irish Independent that morning. From there we had TV appearances, radio and newspaper interviews that Ciaran and myself spent the day running around to. I also said on the day that RTE didn't use the TV clip, but about 20 mins later that wasn't true! We had a short section on the 11pm news which I just got warned about in time to catch it.
Ciaran also did a bunch of radio shows that day, and we got some great regional coverage in Cork, Waterford and Galway as well as a spot on the drivetime show on FM104. He finished off his day by talking to BBC NI Radio, so hopefully we should get some registrations from up north from that one. We peaked at nearly 300 users on the Adamstown forum alone at 4:40pm that day - and what's more, the servers stood up to it!
On Tuesday morning a good article ran in the Daily Mail which I've scanned and loaded to my website in case you care to look at it.... They used a great shot of Ciaran and talked a lot about the Gasworks site and how it all got started, with a little sidebar about myself and the Adamstown forum.
I got asked to go on the Ray D'Arcy show on Today FM that morning, and they gave us a good 5 mins to chat away - again this pushed the viewing numbers up and we clocked an extra 150 people on the Adamstown forum straight after that. Unfortunately Ray was away hosting the Rose of Tralee that day, so Anne Marie Kelly was covering, but she was pretty nice to talk to as well.
It's finally calmed down again today, and Ciaran and I are quite glad of that... There's a lot of work to be done in getting the new neighbourhoods processed and I want to work on re-vamping some of our documents and press releases as well, so that next time this happens we will hopefully be more prepared!
