Confession: I'm a reality TV addict, I'll watch pretty much anything that is going!
For the past three years, November has not only meant the beginning of winter for me, time to wear two pairs of socks and wrap up warm against the wind, but it's time for the annual TV trip to Australia for "I'm a Celebrity - Get Me Out Of Here!"
We've had some unexpected heroes in the last few seasons, Kerry Katona won everyone's hearts even if she didn't win much food for the camp! And last year gave us the implacable Carol Thatcher who was just utter Britishness and staunch to the core.
I'm sitting here stunned, the show I'm currently watching has to be the best yet. Dean Gaffney (ex. EastEnders) has just been voted as the next celebrity to join the camp, but first he had to endure a BushTucker trial - the funniest one I've seen yet! Bush Spa was exactly as the name implies, lots of 'salon treatments' involving the usual bugs and animals we have come to know and love.
I don't think I've seen anyone as scared looking as Dean since the season with Kerry. He looked petrified when he was told about the trial and confessed to throwing up about 4 times before starting it. He did really well though, trying everything that was put before him and got 9 stars out of a possible 11, so the camp will eat really well tonight! I predict though, that a similar thing will happen this year as did with Kerry, the British and Irish publics will continue to vote Dean in for trial after trial - simply because it makes great TV! He should also have a very good chance of winning it overall.
