Conor O'Neill posted about Roos and Hadyn's blog entitled One Breast Less this week, so I popped over for a nosy. They are posting about Roos' experience with breast cancer, it has been prevalent in her family and she's now dealing with it herself. I took time out and read all the posts from the beginning, it's some very powerful writing, some of which had me close to tears at times.
It's a very valuable read for both men and women, as it not only describes their battle from Roos' point of view, but also from Hadyn's - the rollercoaster that is their emotions and how they are dealing with explaining this to their 4 children.
While this was still prevalent in my mind, I was on VideoJug this evening looking for a recipe for dinner when I noticed a video in their Top 10 entitled "How to become Breast Aware". It's a brilliant visual primer on how to examine your breasts each month and be aware of any changes. We are so often told to do this, yet it is so hard to explain exactly how to go about it using only words. This is the kind of video that would be brilliant to show to teenagers and get them into the habit early, and I'll certainly be doing my checking more regularly from now on...
You can watch the video using the player below, but be warned, it's probably NOT SAFE FOR WORK as it contains naked breasts!
